CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES ON MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE

4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”(Hebrews 13:4, 5)
GOD’S PURPOSE FOR MARRIAGE
God’s purpose is not for man or woman to be alone, but to be with the suitable helper HE has prepared, to share, encourage and receive accountability in your dreams and visions. HIS purpose is also fellowship and friendship in marriage, “for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite to his wife and the two will be one (Genesis 2:24). God wants oneness and harmony in marriage and abhors strife and divorce since this will undermine His desire for Godly offspring: “I hate divorce says the Lord God of Israel…” (Malachi 2:16).This brings us to God’s desire for transparency in marriage, the couple are one another’s keeper, protecting and caring about the other’s weakness; sharing together without arrogance, “they were both naked and felt no shame”, (Genesis 2:25).Nothing is hidden, down to the least should nothing be kept or hidden from one another. One other interesting purpose of God for marriage is proper communication, “when the woman saw that the fruit was good … she gave to her husband” (Genesis 3.6). They had good rapport, such that even in rebellion Adam was taken along, such rapport and unselfishness for good purpose is among God’s purpose for marriage.
